The objective of this group is to facilitate the application of sound human factors principles in the development of advanced control and display systems.

This SubTAG is not intended to supplant any other existing organization. Rather, it is intended to provide a means by which all DoD/NASA/FAA personnel who are working on control and display issues can maintain a high level of awareness and currency regarding developments in this area.

This SubTAG will concern itself with the concept of displays and controls. Displays can employ the visual, auditory, and tactile modalities to provide information to a human operator. Control types can include direct manipulation, voice, ocular metrics, and even neurological interfaces. The scope of this group is not limited to these examples. There is likely to be some overlap between areas of interest of this SubTAG and other organizations. Therefore, this subgroup will encourage and sustain the free and cooperative exchange of information with other organizations.
